Todd DeGarmo joined the Washington, DC office of STUDIOS over twenty years ago. In 1995, he founded the New York office and in 2005 was named the firm’s CEO.

Todd’s expertise is in guiding clients through complex projects that include site search, strategic and master planning, design, and construction. He has considerable experience helping emerging and established organizations envision new work environments that support and integrate their culture, work processes, technology and brand. He has helped develop new work models for such diverse clients as Orrick LLP, The Pentagon, IAC and Dow Jones. A strong proponent of sustainable design, he has led teams working on groundbreaking projects, including the Kingman Island Environmental Education Center and the renovation of the Headquarters for the American Institute of Architects, both in Washington, DC. Todd’s work has received numerous awards and has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, WIRED Magazine, Metropolis, Business Week and Architectural Record. Past speaking engagements have included the National Building Museum’s Spotlight on Design, the Boston Fulbright Committee and CoreNet Global. Todd is a member of the Partnership for New York City, a Trustee of the University of Cincinnati Foundation. He is on the Board of the New York Restoration Project, the Museum of the City of New York and the National Building Museum. Todd is a GSA Design Excellence Peer Reviewer, a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects and in 2007 was inducted into Interior Design Magazine’s Hall of Fame.
