Following a national search, Armstrong Teasdale (ranked Number One in Missouri by “Best Lawyers”) selected STUDIOS for the relocation of their St. Louis headquarters. In collaboration with the client and the development team, STUDIOS helped actualize a number of significant base building modifications for Armstrong Teasdale’s build-to-suit occupancy. The goals of this project are tied to a larger repositioning and re-branding of the firm and included the creation of a vibrant space that encourages interaction among attorneys, and the development of new practice areas that can accommodate future flexibility and densification for the transition of the firm to future partners.

The major design theme centered on the contrast between the organic forms of the walls and reception desk with the rectilinear form of the building and private offices. The project consolidated the conference center, library, café, and administrative spaces around a staircase that visually and physically connected all floors. The design focused on transparency throughout the project to allow for generous views of the St. Louis skyline, and harvesting natural daylight in all occupied areas.
