IntercontinentalExchange, Inc. (ICE) is an American commodities exchange, operating regulated exchanges and clearing houses for energy, agricultural, credit, currency, emissions, and equity index products. While ICE is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, they had seven locations in NYC and Long Island. The firm engaged STUDIOS to assist in consolidating their operations to 55 East 52nd Street in midtown.

The goal for ICE’s new space was to increase collaboration, productivity, and creativity. STUDIOS created a series of gathering spaces, including a conference center, training rooms, and a cafe, connected by a dramatic, flowing staircase. Screens throughout the space display market data and financial news, as well as a series of ICE-generated reports to workers and guests. The ICE Futures U.S. Coffee “C” contract is the benchmark for world coffee prices, and coffee from around the world is analyzed and graded by experts on site. STUDIOS gave the coffee grading room a place of prominence, allowing views from the cafe into the space.
