STUDIOS worked with Kirkland & Ellis to create a sophisticated yet welcoming new space that reflects the law firm’s Silicon Valley location and clientele, appeals to their relatively young staff (most of whom are under 40), and provides a high level of flexibility for future expansion.
The program includes a double-height reception with a suspended glass feature element, conference center, meeting rooms, open work areas for support staff, offices for 45 attorneys, break areas, a catering kitchen, and a wellness room. Sliding panels along the multi-purpose room and adjacent conference room open up to the reception area to create a large assembly space for gatherings and events.
The main break area includes a large communal table to encourage family style dining, as well as a living room area. The adjoining patio creates a warm, inviting outdoor room with lounge furniture and a fireplace. The design incorporates partially exposed ceilings in the public areas to provide a more open feel.
