STUDIOS provided full interior architectural design services to consolidate the previously dispersed offices of the City and County of San Francisco’s Municipal Transportation Agency into one eight-story office building. The project required tenant improvements of seven of the eight floors. The workspace houses the following Agency’s departments: the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development, the San Francisco Municipal Railway, and the Department of Parking and Traffic.
STUDIOS’ design creates a more efficient layout of open and private office space that takes advantage of natural light from surrounding streets and a full-height atrium. Other program elements include a central interactive space with shared conference rooms, department libraries, payroll processing, public transit pass and parking permit sales counters, and a secure revenue collection processing facility. The project reuses much of the existing building infrastructure, maintaining a construction cost within a tenant improvement allowance.
