CERTIFICATIONLEED Gold v ID+C

STUDIOS designed a new conference center at the heart of BioMed Realty’s new innovative life sciences campus, offering beautiful, flexible space for events, lectures, and trainings.

Following the completion of STUDIOS-designed Traverse, a hub for dining and socialization on the Gateway of Pacific Campus, BioMed Realty wanted to further expand the campus' amenity offerings. The Forum is a flexible conference center that allows campus tenants to host a variety of events.

The Forum offers a 450-seat flexible conference venue with AV capability and mobile furniture that can easily be adapted to host lectures, trainings, and large events. A board room and two huddle rooms provide space for meetings and break out sessions. These event spaces are supported by prefunction space that includes a lounge, pantry, and bar. The exterior deck offers the opportunity for meetings and events to spill outdoors or provides opportunities for relaxation and socialization between meetings.

This LEED Gold project was designed for sustainability. Indoor water use has been reduced, while energy performance has been optimized. Materials were chosen for their long-term durability as well as low emissions. Natural light floods the space from windows stretched across the facade, and indoor-outdoor connections are prioritize with the patio and courtyard supporting the meeting spaces.
