STUDIOS, in partnership with WZMH Architects, is transforming the MacDonald Block Complex—the administrative hub of the governmental operations of Ontario—into a campus fit for the 21st century.

Each building in the complex will be taken back to its original building core, remediated and rebuilt using modern technologies, systems and materials while preserving the integrity of its many heritage features. The newly reconstructed complex will meet current building, health, safety, and accessibility standards and will accommodate significantly more employees through more efficient use of this government-owned office space. The modernization will be the first major renovation to the five building complex since it was first constructed in 1971.
Re-imagining this large-scale complex for the Ontario government will transform this campus into a 21st-century hub for operations.
The MacDonald Block Complex is the administrative hub of Ontario's government operations and has a total gross building area of approximately 1.7 million square feet. The complex consists of five buildings: four office towers (Hearst, Hepburn, Mowat and Ferguson Towers) ranging from ten to twenty-four stories and connected by a two story podium (MacDonald Block) with two floors of underground parking.
