The client is a technology company that applies a rigorous, scientific method-based approach to investment management. The company hired STUDIOS to assist with the consolidation of their four Manhattan offices to a single location at 101 Avenue of the Americas.
The client sought a new workplace that would better facilitate meetings and collaboration, while also giving their employees the ability to reconfigure their work spaces. The company also anticipated significant growth over the next ten years. In their previous space, nine different workstation types reduced flexibility and made densifying impossible. STUDIOS simplified their new space with a single-sized enclosed workspace and a single workstation type.
STUDIOS observed the client’s day-to-day office activities and collected detailed data on their meetings (type, duration, size, seating styles, food, etc). The data informed the number of meeting rooms the organization truly needed, ensuring no wasted space. STUDIOS also developed a custom infrastructure delivery system, consolidating data and electricity to a grid of “power towers” throughout the work space. Employees can now move their desks to work in different groups or alone and their power/data connections are always within arm’s reach.
