STUDIOS designed an upscale; three story apartment complex on the rue Alexandre Coutureau in the heights above Saint-Cloud, just a stone’s throw from the center of town and public transport offering swift and easy access to the business districts on the west side of Paris. The complex introduces a new level of density in the various lots, thereby enabling the city of Saint-Cloud to reduce the lack of social housing, while maintaining flower beds and wooded areas.

Le program extends along a lot of approximately 2,900 m². On the street side, the apartments oriented south and west enjoy maximum sunshine and a view over the city of de Saint-Cloud. On the garden side, the housing units enjoy the relaxing calm, some benefiting from an exceptional panoramic view of Paris on the upper floors.

The surface area of the programme, 4,300 m² for the “intelligent” apartments, is distributed between studios and 5 room duplexes with generous volumes which have been laid out with great care (16 social housing units and 46 first-time buyer units, 90 parking places, adjoining support premises and over 300 m² of ground floor retail space).

The use of of stone, wood and metal blend modernity and noblesse. The choice of these materials and the design work done on the project successfully achieve the insertion of the complex into the environment of Saint-Cloud. The limestone and the wrought iron elements are a reference to the former chateau of Saint-Cloud, while the glass and the composites materials bring a contemporary touch to the hole.

The common and the private areas were thought out in the same spirit. The apartments contain high quality spaces with access to landscaped spaces from ground floors, and views of Paris from upper floors.
