Outdoor Learning
During the pandemic, many classrooms moved outdoors to allow for social distancing—but even before Covid, some universities were looking at outdoor learning as an option to address the shortage of space on campus, particularly in geographical areas with mild climates throughout much of the year. There are also health and wellness benefits to spending time outdoors: fresh air, daylight, physical activity. In a post-pandemic world, how may student life facilities provide inviting, functional outdoor space to address students’ social and academic needs?
