STUDIOS converted a Budapest university into a Korean Cultural Center spanning more than 8,000 square meters.
STUDIOS took a global approach to the project, which included structural renovation, exhibition scenography, signage, interior decoration, museography and even the design of the top-floor artist’s residence.
Permanent collections are displayed in galleries with harmonious wood, glass and stone elements and highlighted by the quality of the materials. Temporary exhibitions are held in spaces with a more raw, modern character.
The design of two cultural centers in Europe, one in Paris and the other in Budapest, was an iconic initiative for the Korean government that required long-term involvement and a deep understanding of the country’s culture and traditions.
