A former 1980s office building has given way to a contemporary, functional and luminous whole designed to become a new destination focused on well-being.

Consisting of two adjoining buildings: the first, street-side, set over nine floors, and the second, courtyard-side, over four, the objective was to ensure they functioned seamlessly as a whole.

To shape the site’s new identity, we chose a plural architectural language that echoes the diversity of the neighbourhood, where office buildings and residential blocks coexist. The varied design expressions draw inspiration from the materiality and colour palette of Boulogne-Billancourt to ensure a seamless urban integration.

A polymorphous architecture that transforms itself to recreate a fragment of the city.

On the main street entrance, the dynamic façade with its terracotta sunshades creates a kinetic play of movement that accompanies pedestrians and gradually reveals the building’s interior life. The transparent double-height base connects the street, lobby, and inner courtyard.

The rear building is clad in brick to anchor it within the surrounding urban materiality, while its west façade—evoking an artist’s studio—offers maximum transparency and natural light.

A green haven

All roofs, terraces, and courtyards have been redesigned to create numerous accessible, landscaped outdoor spaces. The main courtyard, designed as a paved village square, offers a quiet planted haven for informal encounters and relaxation.

Numerous landscaped terraces now occupy the roofs, serving not only as destinations for users but also contributing to urban renewal and offering pleasant views to neighbouring residents.

A diversity of spaces for a variety of uses

The double-height lobby supports an active, open, and dynamic ground floor plane that fosters social interaction and a sense of welcome. A grand stepped staircase leads to the first-floor co-working area overlooking the hall. The brick-clad Welcome Bar at the back opens onto the courtyard on one side and a large terrace on the other, acting as an informal place of gathering throughout the day.

Environmental exemplarity

With eco-responsibility at the heart of the project, the highest standards for a new building were achieved while working from the existing structure whether in terms of environmental performance, comfort or user well-being with the following certifications: BREEAM Excellent; BBCA Renovation; BiodiverCity Excellent; WiredScore Silver; and R2S 2 Stars.
