We are thrilled to announce the promotion of two new principals in our San Francisco studio: Jeong Choi and Kristian Passanita.

Jeong Choi, AIA
Jeong Choi, AIA

Jeong Choi, AIA has been promoted to Principal. A strong designer with detailed technical knowledge, Jeong takes a holistic approach to his work—crafting a unique process for every project, building trust with clients, and empowering design teams to do their best work.

In his over 20 years with STUDIOS, Jeong has led the design of some of the firm’s largest and most notable projects, from the major renovation of UC Berkeley’s beloved Memorial Stadium to new campuses for LinkedIn and Samsung. His work also includes UC Berkeley’s Campbell Hall, the Santana West development in San Jose, and Nickelodeon’s West Coast Headquarters expansion.

Kristian Passanita has been promoted to Principal. He immerses himself in his clients’ cultures to learn how they work, how they live, and what they need to thrive. His inherent curiosity drives him to develop thoughtful, tailored designs that are shaped by the same people who will experience them every day.

After 13 years in the Washington DC studio, Kristian joined STUDIOS’ San Francisco team in 2020. He draws from his knowledge across many project types—workplace, civic, cultural, education, residential, and hospitality—infusing his work with elements from each to create rich, multi-layered spaces and experiences. His recent work has focused on R&D labs and workplace design for major technology clients.
